Uttar Pradesh’s Chitrakoot To Get State’s First Tabletop Airport| चित्रकूट में बनेगा उत्तर प्रदेश का पहला टेबल टॉप विमान

A popular tourist location, Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh is always undergoing new infrastructure projects. Due to the town's proximity to numerous pilgrimage sites, it also draws a significant number of pilgrims. And as the number of tourists increase, the town is set to get a new airport – the state’s first tabletop airport.

According to Zee Business, a tabletop airport is one that is situated at the summit of a hill or plateau with one or both ends of the runway close to a cliff that descends into a gorge. The Airport Authority of India will oversee the new airport in Uttar Pradesh, which was constructed for INR 146 crore (AAI). The Chitrakoot airport would be the first fully functional airport in the Bundelkhand region once it is open. The region in itself is a socially and economically viable zone, thanks to the industries and tourism here. A 20-seater aircraft will also take off and land at this airfield in the highlands once the DGCA gives its approval, according to India Today.

With his wife Sita and brother Lakshman, Shri Ram spent around 11 of his 14 years in exile in Chitrakoot. This is one of the main factors that has been drawing visitors from all over the world to the location, a stunning hill town on the Vindhya Hills.

It also has a ropeway that was introduced in September 2019. Numerous tourist attractions and places of worship can be found there, including the Gupt Godavari, Kamadgiri Parvat, Sati Anusuiya Ashram, Rajapur, Dharkudi, Jankikund, Ramghat, Bharat Milap Temple, and many more. Each of these locations serves as a reminder of Rama's time in the town alongside Sita and Lakshman and enables visitors to follow in their footsteps.
